Abused German Shepherd “Phoenix” Rescued, Finds Home

MISSION VIEJO — Phoenix, the abused German Shepherd who had his ears cut off and his mouth taped shut so other dogs could attack him, has found a home.

According to the animal rescue groups who saved Phoenix from being euthanized, the loveable dog will now live with a new family in Toluca Lake starting Saturday.

German shepherd rescue group looking at applicants to adopt Phoenix

MISSION VIEJO – The Coastal German Shepherd Rescue has begun looking at applicants who will offer a happy life to Phoenix, the starving German shepherd who was found wandering the streets of Downey on Tuesday with his ears sliced off, an apparent victim of dog fighting.

The rescue group expects Phoenix will be in his new home by the end of next week, said Tiffany Norton, a volunteer at the dog-rescue group and the woman who picked up Phoenix from Downey’s Los Angeles County Animal Shelter and took him to the Alicia Pet Care Center in Mission Viejo, where he has been treated.
