Dino ‘The Bionic Dog’ gets a second chance
There weren’t very many options for Dino. The energetic, full-of-life German shepherd mix pushed to do more than his injured hip would allow, but it was just too painful.
His tail kept wagging, but his bones continued grinding. He tried to walk but could only manage a limp.
Dino was living in an animal shelter, where his handlers thought the only way to relieve his suffering was to euthanize him, a sad conclusion that too often befalls shelter animals. But something in his personality must have stood out. His second chance came when the Humane Society Silicon Valley rescue team found him, thinking he was one of the special ones.

The German Shepherd Dog, also known as Alsatian is a breed of large-sized dog that originated in Germany which dates back in 1899. Developed originally for herding sheep but because of their strength, intelligence and abilities in obedience training, today they are often employed as police war dogs.
