Dog whose handler was injured named Western Pennsylvania’s Best in Show
Entering the ring for just the third time since her owner and handler was injured during competition, 5 1/2-year-old German shepherd Imp-Cen Rowland’s Tough Love won Best in Show at Sunday’s Western Pennsylvania Kennel Association Dog Show at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Downtown.
“For the person she trusts the most to do that … and for her to come back like this is just amazing,” said Christina Halliday of Waynesburg, the dog’s owner and handler who injured her foot during a competition nearly three years ago. “It really is a storybook ending.”

The German Shepherd Dog, also known as Alsatian is a breed of large-sized dog that originated in Germany which dates back in 1899. Developed originally for herding sheep but because of their strength, intelligence and abilities in obedience training, today they are often employed as police war dogs.
